As part of the Royal College of Music’s Green Week (24 – 28 January) 2022, Treephonia and RCM Studios collaborated on an installation in the newly built College cafe space.

Treephonia: Winter 2022 (video installation (colour, sound); projection, 4.0 surround sound) reinvents the original Treephonia compositions in a new format, inviting us to reconnect with shared physical spaces and the natural world.

In this installation, Winter is celebrated as a time for contemplation, stillness, and reflection.

From sound worlds of tranquillity and mystic awe to haunting and mysterious wonder, this diverse collage of instrumental and electronic music brings new life to exposed branches and missing foliage. Ambient and percussive textures, found sounds, and recurring motifs stimulate our imagination, drawing us into the inner lives of trees.
