Having participated in the ‘Explore at Home’ programme online earlier this year, we were delighted to be invited to the in-person return of the 2021 Great Exhibition Road Festival as part of the Art of Science talks programme.
The Festival’s theme ‘One World’ explored how science and the arts can help inspire a greener future for the planet.
Our creative director, Andrew, gave a presentation on the intersection of art, science, music, and trees, and our everchanging relationship with sound and our environment. The presentation took place at Imperial College and was generously hosted (including a Q+A session) by Dan Vo.
The presentation concluded with a new piece Andrew wrote titled ‘Where we have always been’, a meditation on listening and engaging with the world around us. It includes recorded and processed sounds of London, Niki Moosavi on cello, Rennie Sutherland on clarinet, and words/narration by Andrew.
